ANC Youth League President Julius Malema scraped through matric with an H in maths and a G in woodwork, both on the Standard Grade (SG).

While the league has branded the emailed list of Malema's lacklustre results as a "faked" attempt to discredit him, Independent Newspapers has established that the results are real.

A senior source at the department of education this week confirmed that a digital copy of Malema's results is "genuine".

The email reveals that Malema, 27, passed matric with Es in Sepedi HG and second language Afrikaans HG, an F in geography HG, D in history SG and a C in second language English HG, the latter being his highest mark....

Someone please explain to me what the symbol GG actually means.
 
Wow, you mean he actually passed Matric? Looks more like they just tipped his fat a$$ over the fence. Probably to get him out of the school.

Used to teach but have forgotten most of this.

Goes something like this, but I'm not really sure. Also, HG and SG differ in their symbols.

H = 0-20%
GG = 20-24%
G = 25-29%
FF = 30 -34%
F = 34 -39%
E = 40-49%
D = 50-59%
C = 60 - 69%
B = 70-79%
A = 80-100%

Actually highlights just how scary the notion of Zuma as a president really is. We all consider Malema a tool of the first order. And now consider that he is brighter than 100%.

Still, if he is a man of the people it must be because they all relate on an intellectual level.

Yes that looks right.

I think on HG an F is a fail (under 40%), and on SG FF is a fail (under 35%).
Maybe it has changed in the last 8 yrs I dunno. I remember getting 39% in Afrikaans once and I failed the term off that subject alone.

If they don't care about the individual, why do they want to go to all the trouble to find the culprit that "leaked" the results?
