MALWAREALARM and variants problem

I am having problems with this hijacker,I googled and got advice and followed it but this is a stuborn SOB.
I used spybot and avg antspy in safe mode
results for spybot-congrats no spyware was found
AVG-3 was foundonly tracking cookies.

Now there is a number of programs to get rid of this annoying hijacker,but some programs tell me cant run on vista.

Now my ststem restore is off and i used ccleaner to clean all temp stuff,reset ie7 to,still nothing.

When i click on update in vista my ie7 opens and runs 4 tabs,malware alarm is one of them.

I never had problems like this before for many years,and i am truly shocked .

I do run firefox and opera but its K@K when you check for updates and this happens...
I installed many spyware shyte over this weekend and it seems they not helping as when i reboot Its stil there.
I have lost 20 megs to this K@K problem.Lucky i switch my pc off,imagine what would happen if i left the internet on.

What else can i try like in the registry..for vista ultimate.

vista does not need IE for updating

format and stop using IE

you have removed it from your registry
you have remove it from your startup?
you have removed it from services?

I only use opera but this is why i am complainin

I do not have malwarealarm installed,that hijack log04 is from the internet

yes vista dont need ie for updating,but when i click on the vista update in control panel ie7 starts up automatically and runs these trojans in like 4 tabs

At the moment sounds like your system is pretty much screwed. You might have to consider a format.. (Ya so much for Vista's security)

Let me tell you i had worst infections that this on xp and i fixed it,no need for reformat...thats just to harsh,
I know i can fix it,its just a matter of time.I wish there was a special tool for this and automated

Try Abexo Free registry cleaner and Ad-Aware along with a Virus scan, I run IE 7 have not had one problem since day 1

Like i said i never had a problem for years now,I just cant figure out why i have this now,unless my brother used my pc with his flashdrive.

I think that's the whole point Unless you mean programs that Remove it?

have you been running updates for Windows & your Anti-Virus? I cant think of any way that Malware crap could come through on my PC unless I let it.

they need to put spyware/malware on your pc in order to detect it

if you dont use IE and dont run dodgy things you should never get infected

1) Install Avast. This has a startup scan mode that runs during OS startup to do the initial clean. Not sure how this will work with Vista but it should.
2) Remove the files and folder from the C:\Program Files\MalwareAlarm folder. Also remove them from dllcache.
3) Try using AutoRuns to remove the startup registry keys etc.

ok lets start again,I dont have malwarealrm installed.Its a hijacker problem when vista wants to update,IE7 starts up and goes to these 4 sites including malwarealarm.

So i am sure its in the registry,
I neve had spyware or trojens for many years,This must have been from someone using my pc aka my brother,

I know these trojans are old like a year old,so it stands to reason that it got transfered via usb

i tried avast already.
I tried looking at start up registry keys already
Also remove them from dllcache....?is this the system32 folder you refering to,if yes then i tried that to

The only thing that ever worked for me in the past was a step-by-step from Majorgeeks.com. Look on their forums and follow the steps.

Did you look at all of the registry keys pointed to by AutoRuns? It may also be a good idea to run autoruns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-za/sysinternals/default(en-us).aspx) in safe mode to make sure that something is not hiding it's presence.

Perhaps take a look at RootKitRevealer from the same site. It sounds like this bugger is being masked somewhere.
