Mama's boy.. (Sabc3)

Racism is unfair discrimination based on colour.

A mother not wanting their child to mix their blood with another race, and in so doing produce children who are neither black nor white is not unreasonable. I know of quite a few instances where mixed children battle with severe identity issues. Sure, it might not be the end of the world, but its certainly not ideal.

:wtf:

What *** is this? You're confused because you're lighter than a dark skinned person and darker than a light skinned person?

Lol and now you have an identity issue? :wtf:

Lol they have the choice to marry whoever they want to you know...:D

Doesn't mean I need to agree with it ;)

Would you like your daughter to marry a (insert colour here) thug from Hilbrow even though he is her choice?

That is different, its ok to discriminate against some one who might actually be a bad or dangerous person.

What is not ok is deciding that some one is bad/dangerous baased on their skin colour.

You sure are gullible, it's all for the show.

Picking a person because of colour is racist, and being Jewish she used the holocaust card as an excuse to keep the heritage.

Stupid show though..

Since when am I a racist if I don't want my son to marry a black woman?

Neither is it ok discriminating against people just because of where they live.

The problem is in the real world colour is nearly always linked to the other stuff. If you thought long and hard about it you would realize its not the colour that is the issue, but rather all the other stuff which which comes with it which makes people come to their conclusions.

I would like to point out the other stuff can be anything. Culture, kids, ect... positive or negative.

It's fine to live with a particular point of view, especially when its normally right, but you have to be open minded enough to allow for something out of the norm. The problem with the colour issue is the mixed children thing is always a consideration, and based on how random the partner choosing process is, it really would be best to rather date in your own colour circles so the kids don't have to be born neither black nor white.

Lilith might think it doesnt matter, but it definitely does.

do the kids have issues with being the result of a mix marriage or is it the parents that have a problem between themselves resulting in the kid feeling different or is it that other kids or grownups are actually making an issue of the fact that the kid(s) are a product of a mixed marriage?
