I've searched these forums and tried googling but I just can't seem to get the info I require. Does anyone know if there are local people that are part of the Lazarus project? For those that don't know - they're people that burn full sets to disc and ship them to you, but not for profit.

I waaaf Mame... and > 200 GB is a bit too much for my 512k/6GB a month.
 
lol, awesome, i remember seeing that, 200 gigs... but ask yourself this, do you really want EVERY single mame game? Alot of them were junk! And imagine how many dupes exist in that collection? :)

Rather be picky, and grab the titles that YOU want to play!

PS: Alien vs Preditor is a champ of NOTE!
 
Not only duplicates but I would say more than half of them are Japanese.
 
i have the disc here and there are thousands of games on it, mind you most do not work and there were duplicates because they were sorted into different catagories and under different names.
 
What makes it so big is the CHD files from games like Beatmania etc. Leave those out and the size goes down drastically.
 
Thanks for the advice, but alas, I do want a full set. It's a matter of obsession. I want bootlegs, rips, hacks, artwork, cabinet pics, icons etc - the full thing! It reminds me happier times years ago. Once I get the full set I can just update it every month or so when new versions are released. On that note - is there anyone offering a service to download huge amounts of data at a price? Some company or individuals?

Edit - I do have a .94 full set but it hasn't aged that well.

I might still have a new'ish set that I can just update. Used it for my last cabinet. Will check and let you know.

BTW is the .94 set not playing in later mames?
Did you wreck your romset with clrmame like i did?
I find myself using 3 different mame's just to run em all.

I found a guy on Gumtree that boosted my rom collection to 24 gigs.
Im very happy with it,however i did a little research and discovered mameroms.net.

Never ever use mameroms.net for ROMS.
It's a scam and you will not receive anything!
He even reply's to promptly and reassures delivery.
