Man arrested for raping baby

This is probably the worst South African crime. There is nothing more sickening than this. South Africans should be ashamed that there are vermin capable of these acts living freely amongst you. How sad that the world doesn't really take note of this **** hole - it may be the reason why it carries on unabated. Thankfully I am out of here soon.

Every single South African should be worried when crimes like these are allowed to continue. It is extremely sad that your most proudest moment (winning the Rugby World Cup) of the last decade was marred by the brutal, senseless murder of one of your greatest music stars. When your babies are raped and tortured, then your society does NOT deserve to be part of the first world. I'm disgusted and it makes me sick.

Agreed! You have to wonder what corrupts the psyche of people like this, I would imagine abuse/torture they've endured could be a reason.

I remember the days that the community wud go pay the scumbag's bail, to get him out of jail (where he won't get proper justice), and take him somwhere and show him what proper 'punishment' is.....

BULL****. No where else on this planet are crimes such as these carried out so frequently, despite horrid living conditions. No amount of physical abuse leads to the rape of a baby. How many countries see little boys heads removed for Muti potions and witchdoctor cures? Your government created these kinds of crimes by refusing to outlaw witch doctors and by not refuting "Virgin Cures" to the nth degree. :mad: Abused children do NOT grow up and rape babies.

I said it could be one of the possibilities. :rolleyes: I don't think any of us can really comprehend (atleast I hope not) the reasoning behind these horrific acts.

It's rampant enough in this country to start to try. As I already said, how many other countries have these horrifying crimes?

Here's a few causes:
  • 8% conviction rate means no effective punishment is meted out. 4 year sentences are reduced to 4 month sentences (Tony Yengeni = case in point)
  • Zero Morals
  • no respect for human life
  • Absolute lawlessness (just watch the way you lot drive. Just today I drove ahead of someone drinking and driving - in peak hour traffic). On this very forum a guy spoke about a friend of his who committed insurance fraud.
  • Witch Doctors and their bull**** cures and protection potions
  • Incompetent Leaders (right from the top all the way down)
  • Western greed mixed with African culture
  • A ****ed up health department who disputes medical fact in favour of "traditional medicine"
  • South African arrogance
That, in a nutshell, is the cause of these types of crimes.

In Africa and some other 3rd/4th world countries maybe but still not at this frequency and extremes combined. The rest of civilizations in the world do not have this extend of the problem as in South Africa. I doubt even in Africa! Savagery is the only real explanation, NOTHING else!

PS: if you only refer to the sexual part then yes I concur to a greater degree but still not as rampant as here ATM.

This is very disturbing. What is more disturbing though is that arb crap such as name changing takes precedence over incidents like these. We keep hearing that the justice system is underfunded and understaffed, but nobody ever seems to mention that non-critical departments such as the Department of Arts and Culture might be overfunded and overstaffed.

Some will never learn. Sufferers of "criminal is a victim mentality" it seems will never be cured, no matter how large a dose of reality :(

Don't worry there are many just like him there. Plenty walking free as well.

The guy who raped my maid's 4 year old is walking around free today. In fact she claimed she saw a pic of him smilling in the newspaper :eek::sick:
