Man arrested for speeding in Midrand

I was offered a Grey Q5 2.0 TFSi on Friday from the Audi Menlyn branch. Wonder if this is the same one that they wanted to take for a last drive. These stories aren't awesome to hear, not if it is a mechanic driving.

I'm thinking SQ5 or the other 3 litre Q5's. 2.0T wouldn't reach that speed.

The 2.0TFSi (132kW) maxes out at 210, but we know that one won't get there.
The 165kW one will. Maybe. On a downhill - it's rated at 222km/h.

Testing his engine lawl. He's lucky he's not testing a nice new coffin.

Is he getting overtime for working at 2am?

Wish we had that points demerit system already.

...ahh stoppit...you are cracking me up...we all know that speed doesnt kill......what next? Tolls, pool fences, pay your fines?.....SA needs none of that western shyte...the cANCer will just corruptly pocket the money....

It does kill if it is reckless, and that speed is reckless in Midrand any time of the day, always cars on that road and an undulating road, but your probably know this (you unfair e-tolling system lover :p). With they used those e-toll gantries for something useful, like speed enforcement.

Isn't bail based on lifestyle and income? R1000 for this guy is relatively low then in my opinion.

Maybe the severity of the offence and whether he is a flight risk is taken into account.

It is low - what is the purpose of bail in SA?

Bail is basically a guarantee that you will show up in court for your trial. It's returned when you pitch up, or forfeited if you don't. It's not a form of punishment, it's a way to allow a potentially innocent person to avoid sitting in a holding cell while awaiting trial.

^That

Here's an arbitrary question, are you entitled to interest value on your bail money?
