someone with a licensed firearm can have it stolen, but yeah does that then make the person who stole it in possession of an unlicensed firearm? or it a stolen licensed firearm.
It is all semantics really. But if you want the real definition, then a gun that is unlicensed is not on the CFR system at all. It is not licensed to anyone. You don't say someone has an unlicensed gun if it is licensed to someone else.
He would be arrested for illegal possession of a firearm, or possession of a stolen firearm. But not possession of an unlicensed Metro Police firearm.
