Walking up to a guy and shooting him dead on some 'blast first and ask last' is self defense?
 
There are more and more stories of people taking the law into their own hands with the 'blessing' of the police.
Even the SAP are getting tired of re-arresting the same guys over and over.

Dude... how did he have every right to shoot him ?

From the story... the guy was just sitting in the car, not threatening him or anyone else. Could have even been another person completely.
I'm glad the hijacker is dead but you can't just go round executing people like that, how do you even know that its the right person ???

It would be completely correct for the police to take him in.

How do you know that is what happened? You are to fast to defend your "gods" my mate. Lets hear the full story. I am sure this will now become a defacto "hate" murder.
 
Well done to him! Freaks me out though, as this is the area I live in and where I go out to eat often (Melrose Arch).
 
From the pic the car looks to be slightly smashed with gunshots on the bonnet too. According to twitter, one man was shot and two escaped.

You don't seem to hold marine1 to the same standard when he claims the guy killed the alleged hijacker in self defence.
 
In the chest??? I would have shot him in the head! Another good for nothing low life off the streets is all I have too say! If the shooter wants, he can come visit me and help with the low life nigerians in the neighbour hood!

A terrorist needs a fair trial, because killing him in a drone strike is just inhuman, but a hijacker can be shot point blank with no one even peeping anything about a fair trial?

I think the point is you cannot assume to be self-defense or in the prevention of a crime. So they cover their bases. Our legal system technically requires proof of wrong-doing before imprisoning someone, innocent until proven guilty, but as to how this act will be interpreted according to the law I don't know.
