We would like to find around 100 peeps across SA to help us with some basic computer stuff - essentially updating hard drives.

This would be instead of using mobile data - the less money we give to telcos the better - and upskilling and employing some folks is good for the soul.

I believe there are companies that offer such services- any recommendations or experience gratefully received.

How do you update a hard drive? Do you mean firmware of the hdd? Or do you want to update the OS on the hdd?

I think he means drive to persons house / business and do tech support.

No need to worry on what they are actually doing- suffice to say it requires very basic IT skills.

So a team of 100 basic IT reps across the country.

Well, no. We would need more than "basic computer skills." Upgrading a hard drive does not fall under basic skills.

What are you asking exactly?, for volunteers? Or advice.
If you unwilling to divulge more, you not gonna get much here.

Are you by any chance "working for Microsoft" and sending out teams to fix computers because you have detected that they have viruses and for some reason people aren't believing you over the phone anymore; and hence why the staff skills aren't really necessary?:D:erm:
