So you were on the beta2 of mango? Yeah, they originally said that we would all need to restore nodo onto our phones and then do the mango update but yesterday they announced that it would clean it up nicely for us so we dont lose stuff.
This is awesome, because now I can keep all my save games :P

I was actually just on the update after NODO... i think it updated 7403 and then 7720... never had a mango beta yet... earlier I downloaded the windows phone SDK.... wanna play around and see if its easy to learn or not... who knows....

Disconnect Trick worked for my HTC Mozart (8ta). Busy installing. Holding thumbs for the marketplace!

:'( Mango is running and it is amazing AND I CAN'T DOWNLOAD A THING THANKS TO SOUTH AFRICA.

There seems to be an issue somewhere that is making it impossible for me to download any apps. I wanted to use meteor so badly! (Try it if you have windows 7, looks amazing!)
Anyway this seems to be a South Africa only issue. Or am I alone.

I've got the exact same problem as you. I can't download any apps over wifi. I think it will work via Zune though (or at least I hope so) but I'm at work so I can't test it.

Aye the disconnect "feature" worked 100% for me. Not had much time to fiddle but mango is looking good.

I want to try out some of the voice stuff. It sounds impressive.

I am still having no luck getting Mango on my HTC Mozart via Vodacom. Anyone know if its out in SA or not for locally bought WP7 phones? I am struggling my ass off to find out.

I am still waiting feedback from some of you guys who use disconnect method to update to Mango. Can you download apps via Marketplace on your phone or not? Its pretty vague what the issue is at the moment and I am hesitant in using this method to update my phone. So can someone provide some proper feedback?

I'll try to help you. You'll either have to wait for the update or use the disconnect method. The disconnect method requires some patience though. What I did is click on update and then count before I disconnect. For me the magic number was 7 seconds. Continue trying, starting with one second before disconnecting, then 2 seconds and so forth.

If you get a message that Zune is unable to check for an update now because you are disconnected then it means that you disconnected too early. If you get a message that there isn't an update available then it means you disconnected too late. At least that's what I figured last night.

As for your second question. I can download apps via the marketplace just fine using 3G but if I connect to a wireless network then it doesn't want to download. It looks to be a South African problem at the moment. I haven't yet tried to download via Zune though but I've got a feeling that it will probably work when using Zune to download an app.

So yes, 3G works but while you can access the marketplace via connecting through a wifi connection there seems to be a problem downloading apps.

@solitude, doesn't look like doing it through Zune works either.
Will contact someone at MS and see if they can direct me to the right person to speak to.

Please let us know what MS says. I am holding off from using the DC method.

Cool, some smart guy found a fix.

You can follow the thread here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...037-aeb9-1af03133073b?page=4&tm=1317278325613

I'll just quote him:
Success! I've found the root cause of this issue.

It's turns out to have been a DNS issue after all. After updating the DNS settings on my router to use Google's DNS server (8.8.8.8) instead of the ISP's provided DNS server, the downloads work as expected. (Since you can't manually set the DNS server IP on your phone I had to revert to setting it on the router...)

No idea what host name it's trying to use to access the Marketplace, but it seems that entry is borked for every single ISP in South Africa or they all share the same DNS server.

Either way, downloads now work via Wi-Fi again!

I can confirm that this works. :D

Someone mentioned downloading via Zune didnt work, is that sorted out too?

It should be. Unfortunately I won't be able to test that until Saturday. However it should work for downloading via Zune too.

Oh and for those of you using Cell C speedsticks, it seems to work through wifi if the wifi is connected via Cell C 3G and not ADSL.

Prepare for your 3G usage to rise dramatically. :) So many apps so little time.
I will start a "Feature" thread and "Recommended App" thread, so everyone can share theirs

Cant seem to download and install apps from Zune since Mango? Any found a resolution to this problem?

@diegoa What does the error message say? Mine said, check the marketplace via your phone. You can't download and install the apps via Zune.

All noted about this Mango Update but I wonder if the experts can confirm if this update has added "Call Audio Recorder" application like the previous WM 6.5 OS had or not? Tried the net for answers but not find a clear yes or no.
Thanks
