So you were on the beta2 of mango? Yeah, they originally said that we would all need to restore nodo onto our phones and then do the mango update but yesterday they announced that it would clean it up nicely for us so we dont lose stuff.oh nooooo, im hating the fact that its updating all previous updates BEFORE the mango one... each time going thru ALL 10 steps... seems like i need to get a cuppa coffee and be patient(and talk to the forum haha)

This is awesome, because now I can keep all my save games![]()
:'( Mango is running and it is amazing AND I CAN'T DOWNLOAD A THING THANKS TO SOUTH AFRICA.
There seems to be an issue somewhere that is making it impossible for me to download any apps. I wanted to use meteor so badly! (Try it if you have windows 7, looks amazing!)
Anyway this seems to be a South Africa only issue. Or am I alone.
I am still having no luck getting Mango on my HTC Mozart via Vodacom. Anyone know if its out in SA or not for locally bought WP7 phones? I am struggling my ass off to find out.
I am still waiting feedback from some of you guys who use disconnect method to update to Mango. Can you download apps via Marketplace on your phone or not? Its pretty vague what the issue is at the moment and I am hesitant in using this method to update my phone. So can someone provide some proper feedback?
Success! I've found the root cause of this issue.
It's turns out to have been a DNS issue after all. After updating the DNS settings on my router to use Google's DNS server (8.8.8.8) instead of the ISP's provided DNS server, the downloads work as expected. (Since you can't manually set the DNS server IP on your phone I had to revert to setting it on the router...)
No idea what host name it's trying to use to access the Marketplace, but it seems that entry is borked for every single ISP in South Africa or they all share the same DNS server.
Either way, downloads now work via Wi-Fi again!
Someone mentioned downloading via Zune didnt work, is that sorted out too?
