So am i right in understanding that this device pushes the bluetooth 10m limit to 50m?

Most important, will it give me cancer being that strong

Isn't the later bluetooth standard 30M or so?
If one gets cancer from BT then I've definitely got cancer then. My Dinovo desktop set is BT and runs 24/7 about 30cm from my hands.

If you going to get a BT dongle make sure it is supported natively by OS like XP. I had lots of trouble in SP2 getting BT to work until Logitech changed the BT radio. I've now installed the Widcomm BT stack again even though it was working fine on Windows BT stack up until last week.

Hi there

as far as i know most of the newer bluetooth dongles can do up to 30m
Line of sight , through walls and partitions you tend to lose some distances and signal quality.

as far as cancer goes , i cannot comment on that, as i am yet to hear of a case of cancer caused by bluetooth.

I will try one of new ones and post my finding on this thread.

Thanks Esquire, i am going to pick 2 of them up tomorrow anyway, 30m is 3 times better than 10m, although my maths says it isn't

Quoting these distances is all marketing gumph, besides, what exactly does "up to xx m" actually mean

A dongle is only half of the equation, as it needs another device to create a network with, therefore the overall distance achieved is dependent on that device too.

The only thing relevant is what revision of the spec does it adhere to.
