Manually switch on led on fan ?

Is there a way to manually switch on this fan's Led ?

Someone mentioned if you have no controller the light would be on permanent green but i cant get it to light up. See picture, i fed it 5 volts and then 12 volts but to no avail.

Is there some sort of trick to it ? Does the fan need to run first on its seperate 12 volt supply then i need to feed the lights 5 volts ?
Antec prizm 120.

White striped wire is usually negative so i should have had the polarity correct.

If you fed the LED 12v and it's a 5v you've more then likely popped the led.

Ive tried 5v first did'nt work 5v on the others also dont

LED is probably popped.
You need to use a RGB controller.
