Howzit,

So this user started syncronizing a certain network drive to work offline. It caused problems because it was a department drive and you can't sync stuff back and forth if other people are also working on it. So I had to ask her to disable it.

She still uses offline files for her personal network drive which is fine.

Every time she tries to access the department drive now over VPN it shows as empty, meaning it is showing her the offline version of it - even though this was supposed to be disabled. As per google I tried the Control-Shift Delete offline files in the menu's which clears the cache but this did not work. Also tried disabling offline folders and clearing and restarting and then only making the one personal drive she currently needs available offline - but via VPN the department drive still shows as empty but in the office it works fine.

She claims that when at home all other network drives work fine over VPN except the department one and I assume it is because she had made it available offline before and something is not resetting properly.

Any ideas? What am I missing?

FYI she connects to VPN after she logs in so naturally she is logging on without network connectivity first before connecting. But how to stop this one particular drive having an empty offline version when it has already been disabled supposedly?

Oh BTW XP SP3

Disconnect the mapped drive completely from the offending system (the pc that has the problem accessing it).

Before remapping, do a gpupdate /force and possibly /resync with restart. Remap the drive and see if it's working.
