Hi MyBB Readers

I have run into an issue with mapping my router network drive through File Explorer. I am running a Linksys WRT ACM3200 at home which has Media Server capability. I have plugged in a WD Elements (3TB, USB 3.0). Currently standing I can access the files through the File Explorer but am unable to add or delete files (Unless I unplug the drive).

Linksys support sites says to Map the Network drive to \\192.168.1.1\ but when attempting to do so I am unable to see any Network connections (Besides my laptop). (https://www.linksys.com/fi/support-article?articleNum=135703)

My network file sharing is enabled and I am running Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043. 1348). When trying to access my router through the "Network" tab in File Explorer I get the following error message. .1636555349190.png

If I try to map the drive to \\192.168.1.1\ I get the below error message.

If I am to type in 192.168.1.1 in File Explorer it takes me straight to my Router Log in page. For the purposes of the Mapping I have turned off "Secure Access" and "FTP Access" for the folders on the storage device.

If anyone has any input on how to fix it because neither Google or Youtube seem to be able to help me, I would be highly appreciative.

In my research, I did find that there is a Windows 10 bug which causes these Network issues but according to the version I have these were meant to be fixed in the 20H2 update.

Thank you in advance.

Your last image might be the issue. You have only a single \ instead of double \\

Sorry, usually have the double “\\” when I was making the screenshots I forgot. Tried again now to double check but I get the same issue.

So I just borrowed my neighbours laptop quickly and I am able to map the network drive with no issues. Windows Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043, 1288)

Definitely your windows 10 install. Since it came out I have found that Win 10's networking seems to be a hit and miss affair. Mostly it works rather ok and then you get odd installs that just never do anything right. Format and re-install is normally the only solution.:cautious:

Thanks man appreciate it. Will try it out when I can find the time. Was honestly hoping to avoid this but can’t seem to find much answers on the Web.

Could be it only supports SMB1.
Make sure that is enabled in "Turn Windows Features on and off"
