Maserati Grecale Folgore review

Verdict

Maserati is a name that carries a lot of history and symbolizes the harmony between luxury, elegance and speed. The Grecale Folgore perfectly captures what the brand stands for in this new EV era. The Italian brand no longer only relies on heritage, but now it competes on development with the best luxury brands in the world.

The interior has high quality leather everywhere, abundance of chrome and metals, amazing build quality and to top it all off is the refined infotainment, which makes living with the Grecale such a breeze. The exterior may not be as exciting as the interior with its subtlety on the verge of being bland, but there are no parts that can be deemed ugly.

The driving characteristics fit for a sports car, but also a family SUV with the amazing suspension allowing you to have three completely different vehicles in one packaging - a comfortable daily driver, a potent canyon carver and a somewhat capable off-roader.

Its high initial price is really the only meaningful downside of the Grecale, as it's already starting to depreciate heavily on the used market, rising the cost of ownership substantially. But if you can afford it the Maserati Grecale Folgore is definately a worthy consideration for those looking into midsize luxury SUVs.

Maserati unveils Grecale Cristallo special edition

Maserati has revealed the Cristallo special edition of its Grecale SUV in a new icy colour at the automaker’s headquarters on Viale Ciro Menotti.

Maserati has unveiled a special edition of their Grecale SUV, known as the Cristallo. The name Cristallo, or “crystal” in English, comes from Monte Cristallo. It is one of the most iconic peaks in the Dolomites, a mountain range in the Italian Alps.

This edition of the Italian SUV sports a new colour in line with the mountain’s icy nature. Azzuro Aureo, or Golden Blue, has its base as blue and is enhanced with golden mica, a mineral formed by oxidised iron. This colour is also from Fuoriserie, a bespoke design programme of Maserati where customers can choose unique design options for their cars. The front grille of this Grecale is new and has inserts of Azzuro Aureo. The exterior is completed by new 21-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels

The Cristallo features a set of Original Maserati accessories, too. Outside, this Grecale has self-levelling hubcaps, branded tyre valve caps and customised courtesy lights when you open the doors. Inside, there are branded floor mats.

Customers have the option of ordering the Grecale Cristallo in Modena, Trofeo and Folgore formats.
