I think the thing is that it probably shouldn't have gone 100% down in the manner it did though. in theory an international cable break shouldn't totally affect a local south african business that needs to access their outlook exchange server that's hosted on a local server in SA. they should still be able to access their stored mail and send/receive to other local businesses in SA even when international connectivity is severed.These topics are covered in most DR documents across enterprise. You saw some of it play out today, yes things went down but being able to recover from 4 international links having serious issues in half a day is pretty good.
