Massive outcry about ADSL capping

Then move to Mweb, or stick to whatever package you were previously on, and satisfied with. None of the uncapped accounts are for heavy downloaders, only those who use less than 30GB a month.
Who decides how much of data is acceptable? You're going on about how complicated an ADSL service is to administer, so you would realise that the FUP in place is not supposed to be related to the amount of data, but to the load placed on the network.

You can't just sommer throttle people at all times of the day, on all protocols, once they hit a certain GB threshold. That indicates either a poor use of network resources, a lazy network administration team, or both.

Once again you will forgive me bot taking you seriously, wither of you with under 50 posts, seems that there have been a lot of new sign ups here since the Afrihost mess. ;)

The only company who would have true uncapped is MWEB at this point in time, as everyone else buys bandwidth from IS or SAIX at per-GB prices. I still see no cap, but if you could linky to whomever said that it was, I'd be happy to retract my statement.

Otherwise, move to MWEB and enjoy their service until the other companies fair better, then switch back. Download as much as you feel like at MWEB until you get used to having uncapped - for most, suddenly having uncapped is like winning the lottery; its great when you realise you have it, but the adjustment is often hard as you start to download everything possible, rather than just what you need.
Mweb shape as much as the rest do in my experience. So they too meet the criteria of not providing an uncapped service. The problem is uncapped and unshaped are confusing to the average consumer and T&C's do not properly protect the ISP. How ironic is it that Axxess offer a R19 per gig unshapped package along with their uncapped services.
Obviously they know they shape it to the point it is virtually useless and then say hey we have a solution, buy unshaped from us to speed up the crap uncapped connection we just sold you.

A thread started and written in the form of an article, where the OP quotes himself from another thread where he complained... I miss the point of this thread as well??

To me it just appears as a pot-shot from one web hosting company at another long established one.
