massive packet loss again

It's what he's playing, he didn't quote the question... like me.

P0ntec, unfortunately 4 or 10 pings seem to be enough  With mine I have no packet loss, I might get one or two if I run 100 pings, but basically Cape Town isn't having the same problem. Pinging 4 times is just out of not knowing the -n command I guess.

You guys ain't got **** on me...

Not even a reply from an iburst representative. Guess it's time to start looking at alternate broadband solutions, luckily i didn't go for the contract.

Ouch. That is serious pain right there. Now I'm glad I convinced my dad to go ADSL not iBurst.

Sigh. Water in the cabling? The antenna?

Wow, it's been a week already, is JHB still having such huge packet loss? I'd be pretty angry by now..

I have to ask the question...IS THERE NO DAMN NETWORK ADMIN SUPPOSE TO BE WATCHING FOR SUCH NETWORK PROBLEMS AND FIXING IT

ffs! how many months be4 its fixed! I emailed them and even gave him a link to this thread. Nothing gets fixed...instead they wana send a techie out to my house...did I not already prove that it's not a problem at my house?!? I'm so fed up with this crap

I am also getting "gatvol" for Iburst.
I am getting alot of "the page cannot be displayed" errors for a month or 2 now and today my connection is slower than 56K dail up modem and wih alot of time outs and also this month I got alot of disconnections and I work from the office at work on my pc at home with remote desktop software.

When I got IBurst my speed was very nice and fast.
When will they fix there problems????

My problems also started about 2 months ago, hence my termination.
HSDPA is so much faster!

Is there anywhere where I can post .jpg pictures (screen dumps) of my iburst speed test results over the last month? I would like the whole world to see in colour what their own speed test results look like with a 100% signal strength.

heh, not to rub it in or anything but I just got 1mbps off a single thread Rapidshare download during the day. Quite impressed.

Last time I tried rapidshare didn't even work for me :/

You are lucky I left iburst or your download speed would have been half that speed.:eek:

I know, I noticed the increase the day you left :D

Actually it's the new Southfield tower, not on Plumstead anymore. I suppose it's still relatively uncongested.

Routinely get 1mbps on international downloads on iBurst. You guys
must live in some bandwidth-starved parts of Cape Town :).

Still I'm so used to 7.2Mbps HDSPA from my holiday overseas, that 1Mbps
does not feel fast. Oh well...
