When our area got fibre, Huawei installed the overhead lines and connector boxes (not sure about the terminology) and it was decently/professionally installed and working . Then came Telkom and removed it and re-did the job, who knows why.
What a disaster. Lines hanging down halfway to ground level and the connector boxes tied with tie-straps to the telephone poles. Loose cables all over, just shoddy workmanship..
When I asked them why they did not tidy up the installations, I got the answer that it was the job of another team and was never done.
Telkom has basically been retrenching customers for the last few years. For every landline (and ADSL) customer that they cut off, how many actually go back to Telkom for a replacement product? Based on these results it would appear that very few do.
Then they treat you like you're an undesirable creature.Trying to convert as many people to fibre and mobile. They giving away free SIM cards with 1GB of data if you Port over to them.
Those 'poor' workers are also useless, rude and unhelpful. And that is a management blunder for failing to retain customers yet it is the poor workers who pays the price.
