Matador Vs General Tire

2 things, no one has ever heard of them, and nor have you, Which speaks volumes about how good they are.

Matador have been making tyres since 1925, so they're probably not as bad as the muppets here suggest.

(Oh, and they're a brand of Continental as well.)

Edit, I see general are a Continental brand as well.

Yeah, they're budget brands generally from what I know... stay away... get decent tyres.

What's wrong with budget tyres? I mean they're made for people on, well, a budget, and not usually used on high performance cars?

Budget Tyres is probably the wrong descriptor...

Cheap Tyres is more accurate...

Never ever ever skimp on tyres on a vehicle, they are your only contact point with the road.

No. Cheap would be double kings or chen shin or some other recycled chinese crap.

General and matador or perfectly good SABS approved budget tyres.

What's better, something like a budget priced general tyre or only being able to get some used or retread POS?

Each to their own obviously...

I would put those tyres at the bottom of the list along with the chinese ones.... They would only be an option if I absolutely could not even vaguely afford better quality tyres.

Fantastic. Help the OP pay for "better" tyres then.
