Anyone know if the Mate 50 Pro will ever make it to SA?
 
Ah, cool. Maybe they'll have special offers like on the Mate 40 Pro.
 
I can't wait to see he camera on that in the real world use

Comes with a free GT Runner watch (it'll be nice to have a new watch :)). Apparently there are special offers if ordered between 8pm and 2am (which I did), but I don't think you get to see what they are until full payment is made. Huawei actually phoned me to tell me, said something about two watches and a powerbank. We'll see.
 
Well, it arrived yesterday. Was planning on doing the upgrade today till we got yet another all-day power outage.
 
Upgrade went really smoothly. The Phone Clone thing does a brilliant job; 210GB of data and about 225 apps app brought over in about 3 hours, almost everything working fine. I had to re-login or re-set up a few apps, but the vast majority just worked. By contrast, I upgraded my girlfriend's phone from Samsung to Honor, and it relies on Google to transport pics, etc. across, and it was an absolute mess; I eventually plugged the phones into my PC and transported files across the old-fashioned way.

Worth noting that the Huawei Cloud now backs up WhatsApp; I always worried about WhatsApp not backing up to Google.

Great news and congratulations on your new beast!
I saw on a review that GBox also seems to come preloaded? So Google apps are also sorted which is great news!

I don't know if it was actually preloaded, because I cloned Gbox from my own phone. I actually prefer Gspace; there are a couple of apps that cannot sign in to Google from Gbox, but can from Gspace.

Ah okay. I've only been using YouTube and Google Maps in Gbox, those seem fine.

How's the phone overall in terms of performance and battery life so far?
