Mate 50 Pro

Tell me more about Gspace. We are a google business office. Will it allow 2fa via the app?

Ah okay. I've only been using YouTube and Google Maps in Gbox, those seem fine.

How's the phone overall in terms of performance and battery life so far?
So far performance seems excellent (never had issues with the Mate 40 Pro either), and battery life seems good, but it's hard to tell because I do top the phone up during the day in case we have more day-long power outages.

The Huawei ecosystem is looking good too; there's a Mobile Cloud app for PC, and I can see synced pics, contacts etc. on PC.

Wow, thank you for the feedback.

What device did you get? Is it the Mate 50 Pro? I tried to follow from the thread. I'm looking to make the jump to Harmony OS, but I'm not sure if I'll survive the day to day tasks. I use Google Maps every day. I've tried Petal Maps for 4 months. It's really good, but sometimes it's very bad. I don't know if it's got to do with my 5 year old P20 Pro? Thanks

Yes, Mate 50 Pro. HarmonyOS is China only, this one runs Android with EMUI 13.

Ah, okay, so it's running like a Android platform without Google services then? My Huawei P20 Pro is in EMUI 12.

The macro image looks good.

Kinda want to try this phone, pretty good deal and I really love the design and screen resolution. With G Space and the how much the app gallery has grown is the experience comparable to a regular android? Or at least 90 percent?

And it's Byewei. :( The lack of Google services was becoming onerous. Apart from minor irritations (some apps couldn't back up, etc.), the major issues were lack of tap to pay, and being unable to access work email and Teams, thanks to Intune changes from Microsoft.

It's been a super solid phone for the 18 or so months I've used it. Battery life went down a little, performance was still fantastic. Camera was great; the only grip there was that the telephoto was not as good as the Mate 40 Pro, though unlike the 40, it had a macro mode.

I'm now on an Honor Magic6 Pro.
