How does one approaches/tackles Mathematics Functions?? I always find them arduous to solve. What should I do to get them right?? I've tried different methods but still can't get them right. Please help *Gets on knees and begs so hard*

Which grade? Functions carry the most weighting for paper 1. What I normally do is I create a function note for kids which explains all the possible questions and how to go about solving them. Knowing the properties of All functions helps greaTry. I have compiled a page with properties of all functions.

Grade 10 & 11. My Math teacher isn't a bad one in fact she's a great teacher. She just began teaching the Functions chapter but I feel like I will never understand the chapter because in two weeks time I'll be writing Mid-year examinations and she's still whinning about the basics. As for my tutor, He explains the chapter differently. I'm even starting to doubt the way he explains it. Today he explains the transformational graph, tomorrow he'll be explaining how to determine the equation of a graph and the y-intercept. And this confuses me. You said you're a Math teacher??

It's a very important chapter. Everyone explains it differently. Is it a private tutor? Grade 11 functions are the same as grade 10 functions, it only shifts around the axis now.
Yes I am.

Yes it is but can the chapter be self-taught with a good book?? I'm really worried because I've seen past question papers and noticed that I know nothing about the chapter.

Why does the Rieman Zeta function have non-trivial roots in a complex plane with a real value of 1/2?

:p

eish :D It's been a loooong time since I was in grade 10, never quite got to expressing a Dirichlet series over the Möbius function back in the day.

I don't know about you guys but I think if you just apply a Laplace Transform or Fourier Transform you'd really be able to solve the stuff more easily.
