Matrix 4 gets a release date

hate to break it to you, but the original was released '99, and here we are 22 years later,
entire generations haven't seen the 1st one, have no idea what bluepills/red pills mean,

quite amazing really if you think about it, how much has changed. since 1999.
Redpill for them is Fox News.

Cue zoomers writing articles that Matrix is Alt Right propaganda because it promotes being redpilled

Simply too fat now...
He doesn't need to do Kung Fu like he used to... He is one of the defining characters of the first movie, they could have made a plan.

Replacing him with that wanna look alike is an even worse idea. And it looks like they are trying to go back to the first movie, I hope that's not what they're doing.

Didn't Morpheus die in M3 ? Need to watch them all again and find my Animatrix DVD on the high seas. No way I am turning on my blu ray for that haha

No but he died in a video game though which the Wachowskis said was a continuation of the Matrix movies apparently which could possibly.. maybe.. explain the new Morpheus, I dunno

One comment I read that was funny, stuck in a virtual 1999,frost my tips and let's go.

First movie was quite close to perfect as a thing that didn't need any sequels. Loved that movie when it came out.

I do believe the Wachowskis didn't anticipate the Matrix as a trilogy. It was only after the success of the first film that they decided to make more and then it went down the biblical and philosophical route and that changed the tone of the original. The original, under the surface, was a basic premise of man vs machines, but once the original turned out to be a bit of a cult thing, the Wachowskis went to the moon with the religion and philosophy.

Dunno. For me the original felt steeped in philosophy but in a way that was never obnoxious. For me that first movie was never about man vs machine, but about humans & the things that bind us and the choice to see clearly etc. That's what I loved about it: It took some dusty philosophical ideas and turned it into a fun sci-fi movie that never felt preachy.

Yes, you are correct. The philosophy was there in the first one, but as you pointed out, it just didn't come across as preachy or as obvious. I think the Wachowskis got a bit too drunk on the philosophy and religion when building the universe.

The movies are about being transgender according to the Wachowskis
