(Taken the spoilers out)...I found the Matrix the best of the original trilogy and they progressively slid in quality and attention-holding.I would lie if I said I'm not disappointed but that was expected having picked up where this was going and what it turned out to be . What as a movie it failed at was weak characters, ok dialog, generic action and
5/10 for being a matrix expansion
4/10 being judged as a movie
As I've said it's 'ok' but not so great as movie.
Tag me when you do so I can read your thoughts on it and what you thought about the camera work.Yeah, thanks! Personally we've decided no rush but will make the most of it.
Perhaps. We did get the Mandalorian after the NuStarwars flop.(Taken the spoilers out)...I found the Matrix the best of the original trilogy and they progressively slid in quality and attention-holding.
Maybe this will go in reverse?
Having a 4th movie that doesn't perform well will simply mean the 5th movie either wraps everything up really suddenly, or gets better leading to the 6th movie which is the best of the lot!
Maybe it fits the general plot narrative, mankind in weird trouble (funny coincidence that btw) and still heading down the hill :- (Maybe this will go in reverse?

mankindhe / she / them / it - kind
That doesn't sound good..and there's apparently even a bit about the Palestine situation.
More about anti-extremes for some of us. For instance Taylor in the series Billions is a great "they".The anti-woke crowd might have a point this time round.
It has too much of these nods which makes it looses identity. It is a bit of a remake of old scenes and much of a bore an hour into it…. Retelling Matrix 1 really
Maybe I watched too much Marvel since the third movie?

5th and 6th will be better...Welllllll ... having watched it in cinema, I think that barely makes it watchable.
This entire movie was a self-aware spoof of the first three movies.
The best part was they finally really delved into the Neo/Trinity love interest, which lead to some genuine feels.
The bad was the endless fight scenes were all "been there, done that", and by the fifth one it was just a yawn-fest.
Sadly I've realised The Matrix is entirely based on the initial concept, but once you get that concept ... then it's done. If you're on the fence over watching it, I'd say it's worth watching just for some light entertainment, but don't expect anything lifechanging.
The weird part was they had some actual new ideas in this movie, but they gave them ten seconds of airtime each: I'd love to see movies centred around the battle between the human-friendly machines vs the human-unfriendly machines, or "a day in the life" in the 'real-world' with all its grunge (and now strawberries). Even the possibilities of marble machines (exobots ... what were they called?) might lead to some interesting story arcs (other than cat burglars).5th and 6th will be better...
Hopefully when the time comes they fully invest into sound, lighting, fighting, dialog and 'presence' as with the very 1st movie. It's actually that bad when a movie from the 90s is better as-is as your latest in 2021.That is what I get when I compare them movie to movie e.g. on camera work, sound or lightning. Your men are already dead are so much more believable / carries weight when I listen to the original vs matrix 4. You know the little things people forget or don't give enough love these days. Yeah, dialog is important. There are parts of this new movie that I still don't understand. I never had that issue with the first movie ... it was a big concept but pretty simple. This one was just so far up its own ass that I still can't tell you what "the swarm" was, or why it ended conveniently so everyone could escape.Hopefully when the time comes they fully invest into sound, lighting, fighting, dialog and 'presence' as with the very 1st movie.
