Matrix 4 gets a release date

I tried watching this yesterday and got halfway through it and then decided to go to bed
Keanu needs to lighten up, that Oke is too depressing in movies.

I enjoyed it, the Matrix should never have had sequels(including the animatrix) in the first place but people will always crave more of their favorite material, want closure, etc.

Different, but I enjoyed it.

I'm getting this hint a lot of the people hating on this film never watched the Animatrix. It goes into completely different iterations of the matrix and even some weird story of a robot falling in love with a human after they give it some acid drug code.

Watching that could mentally prepare you for resurrections.

I guess I won't be prepared then.

There's actually a character called "Cis" in one of the shorts. But you can pick the shorts you find enjoyable - I watched the animatrix but skipped on some of them.

Whoops, I think the release date is going to be a complete fk up, with spiderman releasing on the 17th. If I have to guess this is going to bomb.....
Do you have HBO max ? While true for us market, what about the rest of the world.Spiderman is going to kick its teeth in, period.Sub this thread. Spiderman min 650m, matrix 4, best guess around 350m.Very few studios are willing to take on marvel movies and often, release before or after.Even with HBO max, it is going to bomb.Mark my words :)
it is officially a box office bomb lol
well told ya so, I did say bad idea to go up against spider man....lol.

Yeah well, some of us can spot bad film making while others will apologize for it. In fact Zone 414 was better than M4 and still in itself a bad movie.

It wasn't about the film being good or bad, they really released at a stupid time, 3 days before Xmas and 5 days after spiderman, blaming on covid also doesnt work considering spider man grossed 1.35 billion, doing it two decades later doesnt help either, not that spider man was any better, it only because of the fanbase, but I believe it to be a complete fking mess as well.Every thing happens in the last few minutes of the movie making more then half the movie pointless and pretty much boring af......

I think if it wasn't for the nostalgia in Spiderman then it would have just been an average Marvel film

OT, but Tom Holland's Spider-Man is a huge fan favourite. You just need to watch the audience reaction videos to when he dies in Infinity War and returns in Endgame. People love the character. When Sony and Marvel appeared to split over making this film, leaving this iteration of Spidey dead in the water, fan backlash played a major role in the two studios kissing and making up. The previous two MCU Spidey films grossed a combined $2 billion, so this one was going to make bank regardless of the nostalgia. The nostalgia was just extra sugar.

Matrix 4 was the exact opposite. It was a film nobody really asked for and it was released nearly two decades after the original trilogy was tied up.

I am half way through this movie and still not sure whether or not I like it. Feeling very ambivalent towards it.

So, finished last night. Action was cool. I can't help but think the repeated throwbacks to the previous 3 movies only served as a final goodbye.

The movie MAY have set itself up for a sequel, but not so sure.

The enemies were not as menacing as Smith in the original trilogy. Not even unlikeable really. Just there. Not as much theology/religion/science/technology thrown in to really confuse you.

Solid 6.1/10 and I should have taken the Blue pill!

Yep, Smith was a key component.

Remember the fight scene with all the Smiths after Neo saw the Oracle?
Would you believe that wasn't CGI, they made that many make up kits !
Truly great effort.
