Does anyone have one?Did you decide to go memory foam or microfibre?

For a queen bed pricing is as follows :
R1000 - microfibre
R2799 - memory foam

Basically our bed is too firm(bed is a year old), need a softer surface.

Thanks

Cmon guys, sitting here today looking like a hunchback of Notre Dame.

I had the same issue, I put a futon on top of the mattress and have slept perfectly since

Memory foam gets very hot and uncomfortable in summer (unless you have aircon).

Hope you don't mind me suggesting this:

That looks far too thin to be effective.

You will be surprised how thin comfort layers really need to be but it all depends on the quality of the materials. Comfort of a mattress is determined by its use of comfort layers, hence the name, not the spring system / core.

A cotton mattress protector will soften up any mattress and it is probably the thinnest thing to use after a sheet.

Hard to say as comfort is a personal preference. Also not so sure how firm your current mattress is as their is no standard.

Have your tried a cotton mattress protector? Also try blankets to determine how thick the comfort layers need to be.

I had the same problem with my Serta as it was way to firm. We use a cotton mattress protector. Other factor was poor health on my side combined with being overweight resulted in too much pressure on my body. Having lost 20kg since then my mattress feels great.

Possibly, but I imagine because it's feathers it would be comfortable. The idea of sleeping on nylon or anything synthetic sends chills down my spine.

But you sleep on sheets?

For 99% of mattresses there is no major difference besides price for a cotton covered mattress and a synthetic covered mattress unless you by chance happen to not use sheets. It is only a thin layer of material on top of multiple layers of foam and then a foam core/spring system.

For the 1% who can afford a premium mattress then just buy a new one.

Possibly - but in my case my bed is hard and I want to sleep on my side instead of back sometimes. Do you think this would allow that?

Nope, sleep on a down duvet and covered with a second down duvet :)

Got one like this when the winter started earlier this year, going to have to remove it when summer starts as it heats op the bed quite a bit. Definitely more comfortable, for me at least, will have to get another topper for summer it seems!

Shot, I didnt want to spend too much money, going to go test out some of them now but I will probably end up taking this one :

Next time buy a better mattress with a latex top.

Yeah this problem took 2 years to develop with me going up and down in weight, the mattress even has a pillow top but this isnt soft anymore.I will probably get a new bed next year, just need to get some decent sleep in :)
