May I hide bank statement transactions when applying for a cellphone contract?

Hi, I would like to know If I am allowed to draw a line through my transactions when giving telkom a 3 month bank statement. I feel that its personal information and dont want them to see on what im spending my money. I have no problem in showing them my available balance and my money out.
Bought weed didn't you?

But yes, as others have said, cross out the parts they dont need to see.

I felt the same when I applied for a place to rent. But whatever, Absa leaks my information anyways, so what does it matter.

No
That is why @The_Mowgs and I drop 50 bux every now and again into @The_Ogre bank account and we use references like "Anal Cream" and "Butt Plugs" as references

The lawyers in his divorce case right now are not amused

LOLOLOLOLOL

I did this a few times with one of my colleagues. It's funny until someone else sees it.

I would've thought that was the whole point of the bank statement... to make sure you are responsible.

I for example am not going to lend money or go into a contract for example, with a gambler, the risk is much higher that he will default based on his habits.

Just wait until we get hold of your bank account details pretty boy !!!!!!

Since you have given them permission to verify the bank statement, they are in a position to contact a bank and verify the authenticity of the statement. This could easily be done by doing spot checks on a few transactions and a nosy agent can throw in one, two or three of your crossed-out transactions.

I am proud of my transactions. Sometimes I'll buy deviant porn specifically because I have to share my bank statements.

I got profiled by Capitec when I draw three months statements when I bought my house. The lady asked me for my ID again and double-checked.

The daily Hungry Lion transactions raised suspicions. I was already dealing with the Hungry Lion staff thinking this white dude was some mystery shopper from head-office now I had bank staff thinking I stole a brothers ID.

If you want to enter into a credit agreement then privacy is the price you must pay.

I love hungry lion !
It is, hands down, my favorite fast food place in SA.

Do they even look at this these days? System normally auto approve or decline you. They only look at this if they have to do manual application?
Banks do. System approves based on information you provide, but then someone does compare it to your bank statement.

This is one of the area with the most fraud. People lying about their income and expenses.

Don't you people have more than one bank account as well. I use a separate account for... Uhm.... confidential transactions. So even if they do request my bank statements, there won't be anything in there that would be of any exciting interest.

MTN want them and you can't email it, you have to print it somewhere and hand it in on paper in case you were going to modify something on the statement. (read my sentence carefully to fully understand the stupid that is MTN)

This is the way. Multiple accounts in multiple countries
