At the meeting some of the parents confronted the board about the decision and pointed out that their children had planned to use the money on textbooks and petrol, among other things.
OT: I have seen a move from just handing cheaques to students for stuff like study loans, to them wanting to deposit straight into the school. Me and some friends have all been there and not all the money found it's way to our studies.
What happened here was that the councils decision was not communicated to the parents, which is not cool.
Was the money not meant for tuition(sp)?
Its like myadsl promises a cash prize for a competition, there is a winner, he gets a cheque, but the cheque bounces and myadsl says, "Sorry, but we changed our mind, we will send your money to telkom instead."
