I took my car in for a service today, and Mazda is charging me R1 800 to replace the front brakes, surely this is a bit steep?

So is there another place in Centurion where i can replace my brake pads, for a more reasonable price?

Call the nearest Supa Quik. they charge about R80 per side to fit and about R800-R1000 for break pads. I bought directly from Mazda parts dept and got a discount over the counter. This is a much cheaper alternative.

What is the cheaper alternative? buying over the counter at the parts department?

Call midas and ask for price of ferodo platinum/premier or ceramics for your car, model dependant shouldnt be more than R300 - R500.

Most workshops will do front brakes for R750 - R900 incl parts but i prefer to buy my own so that I know what is being used. its about 1 to 1 and half hours labour and a pretty straight forward job.
