Mazda 3MPS R199 000
Thats probably a R150 000 saving on any of the cars you mentioned. Half the price for twice the car.

Well the BM and Audi was the sedan models, since he is comparing a sedan and a Hatch/hearse.

I lol at your point to prove value for money by using a 2007 Model Muzda 3 with 13000km selling for 199k, brand new it costs 280k, the car lost more than R80 000 in less than 24 months!!!!

Can you guys not see this? I understand people have choices and want to be different, but the facts are here, you throwing money away.

Was confused as to what was being compared hatch or sedan...
Brand new its R260 000 last time i checked. The car lost R30 000 per year in the first two years keep in mind this is the cheapest one i could find on the net for that year and km's.
Not abnormal but hench my previous statement, buy these cars second hand only! If you want value for money, let someone else take the first hit in depreciation as we all know the first two years it looses the most.

This one lost only R12500 per year. I was simply stating that one could pick up a bargain because they lose value quicker

Its a private sale, Eugene realised what a bad buy it was so hes trying to con some poor kid into buying it.

Yes the R32 is not one of the best when it comes to holding its value, but it will stabilise and will not go less than R250k.

LOL! :p
Vdubs fanbois
Eugene cant afford the car anymore interest rates are killing him! Just like all the GTI's and R32's on the market:p

But on a serious note if i had to buy a car today it would be a 2nd Focus ST. They are going for fair prices! Beautiful engine responds well to any mods, great sound, great handling great car all round. Tiny bit heavier on petrol than a GTI but not major.
All round thumbs up
Mazda 3 will be replaced soon(2009 i think) with the new 3

If I had to choose between a Focus ST and a Golf 5 GTI ... I'd go for the Audi A3 2.0T. It's 10k more, but I enjoy it alot more.

Every 2nd coolio drives a black/Red GTi ... and for some reason they all have CA numberplates with drivers who can't see over the steering wheel and have huge big shades on.

Ganstalicious ekse.

It's not R10K:

Focus ST = R252K
Golf GTi = R272K
A3 2.0T = R288K

So it's R16K more than a Golf and a whopping R36K more than an ST. The ST remains brilliant value for money.
