The ANCYL have always been political exhibitionists. They seek out wacky publicity to justify their existence.

I remember in the old days, you went to varsity to shag, party and learn something useful. What's with this demographic representation stuff?

At what age, will the president not be considered a youth?

Well as a student at UKZN, i can tell u thats how i spent my varsity life :D. and now sadly it comes to an end, i just wrote my final exam paper today.

Mbalula allegedly claimed that transformation of higher learning institutions had turned the university "into nothing but Bombay" and that black African students "suffer on the periphery of transformation"..."To call it a Bombay is being very racist. The tragedy is that we have just emerged from suffering from racism and now we go back harping on about not liking one race or another," Meer said

So now these racist clowns hate whites and indians?

So does this mean the ANC can also be racist ?

As per ANCYL constitution:
1. Membership of the ANCYL shall be open to all South African Youth between the
ages of 14 and 35 who accept its policy guidelines, aims and objectives as
referred to above.

Mbulala was born in '71(not sure which month) so he has maybe a couple months left.

Considering the life expectancy for the SA male is around 40 odd... he could be considered to be a geriatric old fart already :D

My money is on him staying. What else would he do?

In a recent news24 article the "Zuma camp" said if Zuma becomes the next president they want Mbulala to become the deputy secretary general.

Several highly-placed sources say Zuma's supporters have gone as far as drawing up who they want as the top six officials in the ANC.

The list is said to have Zuma as party president, secretary-general Kgalema Motlanthe as his deputy, Foreign Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as national chairperson, former unionist Gwede Mantashe as general secretary and either ANC Youth League president Fikile Mbalula or Housing Minister Lindiwe Sisulu as deputy secretary-general.

The latest BS:

The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) president, Fikile Mbalula, insists there is nothing racist in the observation that one could be forgiven for thinking one is in Mumbai when visiting the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Durban-Westville campus.

Aah yes.. the famous "my comments were taken out of context" excuse

As far as I knew UKZN is open to anyone, regardless of whether you're "african" or not.
