Well the pres. just told us something we have all known for a long time.

He did not say what he was going to do about the situation other than to indicate that their balls and cilts were all tied up in legal wrangles.

He might have admitted that the legal wrangles were of his own government's making or was he perhaps trying to tell us that this was
inherited from the evil past ??

Anyway the good thing about this is that the country now knows that we are paying ten times too much, which is good news and reason to feel a little upbeat and vindicated.
 
The only problem is that none of these offerings is competitive against any of the others. If there is no competition, it means nothing at all.
 
Zigzakery GimmeMore. 6 Players all shoved into one company, where there could have been 6 more compeditors.
Governmint's tricky - i'll give them that. They've managed to force all potential competition to Teklom to work together. LOL.
They know that that's not going to be profitable - too much infighting. Which means that they cannot really compete as a group with Teklom the way that they could have as individuals.
And the governmint blinds us once again.
Now we're just sitting and watching the formation of a huge Teklom2, while governmint budgets for another 3.3 billion in teklom profits.
But - the president says that's okay.
 
Stoke, exactly my point. If we want a SNO that is really going to make a difference in this market, and be competitive as far as prices is concerned it should be a completely independant operator, and should be owned 100% by someone like TATA.
 
Actually, that's where I disagree, introduce effective price regulation to protect the consumer, I could care less whether the SNO partners fight amongst each other, eat each other's food etc etc etc - what I want is reasonably priced telecomms & the more companies have to prostitute their services the better it gets for me the consumer. So, the answer is ICASA regulating prices of nNOz, and I will not allow Service Providers to make their problems my problems.
 
The problem with price regulation is that it may be a positive or negative influence, and in a corrupt country as ours unfortunately is, chances are it would be negative as pockets are padded and friends are helped out.

If there is true competition amongst the serive providers the price would be regulated naturally and there would be no need for a price regulation body.

I do believe that their should be a regulations body, but only to ensure a level playing field.
 
Ok, maybe I need to elaborate, when I said Price Regulation I was referring to setting a ceiling (maximum) price, you never set a floor (minimum) price - that is determined by competitors tearing each other apart & prostituting themselves at the expense of their profit margins.

Stoke, I always pay attention, but who cares about 6 or 7 or 8 or 200, and we are only allowed one SNO bcos Poison Ivy hasn't done her job & rewritten the laws to allow for more than just the SNO!!!
