Mbeki rejects Eskom ruling

I'm hauling out my Vierkleur. Which in English is "four colour". Which translated phonetically back into Afrikaans is "fork hulle".

AA should be removed altogether

I see - only whites must be prejudiced. Nice. Thumbs down from me.
Yes of course, that is the other side of the coin.
The next thing President Mbeki needs to address is AA and its effect on the new generation of young South Africans who are now disadvantaged in finding a job.
The ANC needs to wean the population away from AA.
How they are going to do that is another story, but at the moment young white South African's, especially white males are at a very strong disadvantage in the job hunting market.

Plain fact (whatever the history)

preferential treatment = apartheid

BTTB : We still have all the advantages that come with our upbringing. Better Schools, OBU, parents contacts. I do not know anybody that hasn't managed to get a job after graduation with ridiculous ease (Which isn't to say that these people dont exist). I would say that all groups are even (With the advatange still to white males). We need to reach the point where legislation isn't needed to even things out. But that will take a while
Until then, this is good news for coloured who until now have not had the advantages that whites have, and haven't had the legislative advantage that blacks have

What may be happening is that a lot of young and middle aged white people are starting their own businesses, not to beat AA, but to survive while the country evolves.

BTTB : I have seen that more with older people (35+). They are the only people I have seen that struggle with AA (Many used to work in large corporates) and their skill levels are not that high anymore due to how rapidly technology changes.

jstrike i have to disagree not every white person grew up with parents wealthy and went to a private school and have parents who got contacts in the corporate world I know A LOT of white people that come from a poor home and they worked to pay for their own varsity fee's and the parents also dont have contacts that can get them a job.

Hey jy moet stadig,ek is 50+,and my technology is ok,i dare say old chap:D :D

DigitalSoldier : Of course there are white people that dont have that advantage, and I even said so in my post. But many (if not most) white people do have this advantage

ajak : Some of the most brilliant people in technology are ...older... but there is a tendency with *many* older people to not keep up with the latest developments and methadology

play : I have a feeling he wishes too, but it is a legal nightmare. It needs to be done correctly so that it doesn't put us even further back. The problem is that the whole process needs somebody really good spearheading it, and Ivy is should be that person, but has not been up to the task. Someone else needs to be appointed
