Please do. You've thrown enough money in to that bottomless pit already.

If the SABS actually manages to fire the 1000 employees it has proposed it will probably be solvent again. SAA I agree should be closed or sold or something. Its just a bottomless pit.

Although it is the right thing to do, this won't happen.

Give SAA away but along with it any and all debt/government guarantees need to become the responsibility of the new owners. To sweeten the deal, the new owners will get 5 years worth of tax credits on income, revenue and profit to help restructure SAA and revive it.

While we at it, ACSA should get privatized too.

WTF, didn't know that the SABS is insolvent. Or do you mean SABC?

"SAA CEO Vuyani Jarana has said he is mapping out a punishing austerity plan to turn the national carrier around, which will reportedly require R20 billion to implement. He has said layoffs and other cuts were unavoidable.

The airline is only expecting to break even by 2021."

It's ridiculous that they have R40 billion to throw at SAA for a vanity airline, but not R1 billion to save the SABC's jobs which arguably performs a much more important social function for the country.

You are an idiot. Poor people need news and entertainment too. Not everyone can afford DSTV and internet.
