Hello, sorry I didn't know if this is the correct place to make a thread like this, seemed like the best place.

I have an MC801A router from Supersonic (thank you pathetic company for the parting gift), and it's flashed with their firmware, not sure if other providers like Vodacom work on it.

I want to reflash the firmware on the router to be default so I know it will work with anything, but I can't seem to find the original anywhere, or atleast another provider's firmware. Is there someone that possibly has a copy, or that can help?

Might be an obvious question that you have already considered, but have you tried a Vodacom sim in there yet, could possibly just work?

I have not, but an MTN sim card on Afrihost works. I also managed to lock the cell tower with a handy script I found. At the end of the day I still want the stock firmware on it because why does Supersonic have custom firmware if they are not locking it to a certain operator, what are they looking at?

HW: MC801AHW-1.0.0
WEB version: WEB_ZASUPEMC801A1V1.0.0B03
WA INNER version: BD_ZASUPEMC801AV1.0.0B02

Was there not some law that stopped providers from locking modems?

Maybe ask supersonic if they have the OEM firmware?

Supersonic will only respond to requests if its them looking for money. I had a long dispute with them about money owed and they ended up sending lawyers after me. I paid it off, now I'm keeping the router as a parting gift.
