McDonalds Mexican Burger

I have just indulged myself in the new McDonalds Mexican Burger. Sadly I didn't have my phone to take photos, but it was pretty good, so I will snap some next time. All the staff are wearing Sombreros. Be warned.

It's basically a Big Mac with Jalapeňo Sauce on one of those fancy buns. They are obviously still new to making it, so I had to park after ordering at the drive-thru and waited about 3 minutes.

Presentation was as you would expect from McDonalds. Uneven distribution of Mayo, lettuce falling off the side, tomato hanging out. Out of 10, I would rate:

Price: 5 (+/- R37 just for the burger)
Presentation: 5 (As we have come to expect)
Taste: 8 (I like McDonalds in general, Better than a Big Mac, not as wet as a McFeast)
Burn: 8 (About as strong as a KFC Zinger Burger)

Overall, nice for novelty, but too expensive imo.

Have you had their new(ish) chicken burger? (Edit : The grand chicken)
Better than KFC imo. Much better.

I'll give the new mehican one a go.
 
the onions are good
its far from a big mac, much better imo
a tad bit too spicy though

also enjoy the mushroom and garlic premium chicken burger

Most SA don't like very spicy only mild... maybe a medium at a push if they're feeling adventureous. The Chile freaks are the minority by long shot but even I, one of the rare holders of the Honourable Order of the Birds Eye found the Spicy chicken unexpectedly hot for a few seconds
 
Spicy grand chicken = best fast food chain burger

Also really like the taste of the crispy cajan chicken or whatever it is called burger

I can't make myself order these "expensive" burgers, like this and th mcfeast. I would rather just get 2 mcroyals or Big Macs
 
As a big Mexican cuisine food lover i had to try Mexican burger. The burger special ends 30.06.13 which i think is too short. Got one today during lunch time in Lenasia. Jalapeno souse on top was good. The menu was 49.90 for a double patty burger which i think is OK-ish for McD. Personally i have found it to be equal value and taste as King Steers burger menu for the cheaper price. Still waiting for the BK to arrive in JHB!
 
They have schools on Candy Mountain? Do you still have both kidneys? Poor thing...

Possibly the most revolting thing I've ever tried to eat. One bite and it went straight in the bin.
 
I do not like McDonalds beef burgers at all. I find them too dry and tasteless.

But I saw the adv and had to try it. It was better that the rest but still hate their beef burgers. The sauce tastes like melted plastic!

Please bring on Burger King!!!

I had a Mexican burger yesterday for lunch, and it was delicious. They nailed the chili just right and the onions were great. Possibly my favourite fast food burger atm. I think it would benefit from being cheaper and having just one patty. It's a bit too meaty, but not disgustingly so like the Double Quarter Pounder.
 
I used to hate McDonalds because they lacked variety, always the same old, but this new Ranch burger and the spicy one is really good, also tried that new grand burger with the mushrooms, also quite impressed!
Had the new Mexican yesterday, it’s a freaken big burger, i like the sauce and does not really burn that much, it’s on par with the spicy ranch burger, main difference is this one has beef patties and the spicy ranch is chicken.
My main complaint is it’s just too messy, it was like eating a sloppy joe, my entire hand was covered in sauce (and I’m very careful, it was impossible eating this without leaving a mess)
My rating would be as follows :
Price: 6, its expensive, but it really is a big burger.
Presentation: 6, it was what i expected, just a tad bigger.
Taste: 8, without a doubt the best beef burger they have
Burn: 7, it burns, but it’s no Nando’s Hot (not even to mention extra hot)

Overall, It’s a good burger, tastes good, a tad on the expensive side, but taking size into consideration it doubt other burger places can beat the price.
Much beter than any other beef burger Mcd’s are offering at the moment.
 
I tried this yesterday, I was quite pissed off. There was practically no jalapeño sauce, too much spicy crap. Very dissapointed, the burger was assembled in typical mac donalds style - everything half out the bun, whatever sauce there is all on one side. Again, PRACTICALLY NO JALAPEÑO SAUCE! :thumbdown::mad:
