No, beta 6 and newer versions have the '/nocbm' command line switch.

You still need to add it to your MDMA shortcut, see Method 2 on this page for an example of how to do this and pay close attention to the method notes.

i have create the shortcut for mdma ilke the method 2 and add "D:\mdma10031beta8\mdma.exe /nocbm" in the comment box
and when i run the program it still didn't work for my modem

i cant see any counter with my ZTE modem....

how can i change network mode using command line switch in mdma???
Currenty you cannot switch between 2G/3G/Only/Preferred using the command line.
If this will be useful to users I can add it. When would you use this feature?

MDMA v.2.00? :D
Where did you find this hacked version? The 1.0.0.31 beta GUI has a landscape aspect ratio.

hehehe... i found it from gsmhosting.com i guess.... :P please add this command line. my line disconnect every 2gb of download. and i cant connect in umts mode. :( i have to connect in gsm then switch to gsm.... :) please add this switch.... :)

i want to make a batch file that run every 2 hour or when no internet connection present....

that line will be like,

RASDIAL "MyConnection" /DISCONNECT
PING LOCALHOST -n 5 > NUL
MDMA.EXE /SwitchGSM
PING LOCALHOST -n 5 > NUL
RASDIAL "MyConnection"
PING LOCALHOST -n 10 > NUL
MDMA.EXE /SwitchUMTS

Hi ginggs

Sorry to bother, I have a quick question for you regarding The Negotiated QoS setting in your program. How are these amounts worked out and what do they actually mean for the end user, speed limits etc ? :)

Mine are:
1. UPLINK = 8640.000
2. DOWNLINK = 16000.000

The Speedtest link is mine, my upload speed shows 1.17 Mb/s I've done many tests it is always 1.17 never less, never more

Thanks for any help and BTW your program is Great!

MDMA doesn't calculate these values, it just retrieves the values from the modem and displays them.
What has been reported by users is that these QoS values are affected by three things; the capabilities of the tower (e.g. when MTN towers were upgraded to 7.2Mbps), the capabilities of your modem (e.g. whether your modem is HSPA+ capable), and what your SIM had been provisioned for (e.g. when Vodacom used to charge extra for 3.6Mbps and then 7.2Mbps).

I guess you could think of it like the advertised speed limit on a freeway; traffic, weather and your car's engine might prevent you from reaching those speeds, the difference being that the speed cops in the towers are very good at ensuring you don't exceed the limit.

What modem are you using?

Hi ginggs

Ah I think I understand now, Thanks!
I'm using the E1820 (The Black Cell C one) I've used 3 different USB Dongles never gone beyond the 1.17Mb/s. The Speedtest's actually get to that speed quickly and just sits on it untill the test has run it's course, it seems to be capped, maybe the Tower ? :)

My Negotiated QoS Uplink speed, displayed in MDMA, actually changed a week ago from some thing around 4000(Not sure Sorry) to the 8640 it is currently on now. This is from the same Vodacom Tower and same modem, that is the reason why I was inquiring about where these Uplink and Downlink speeds came from :)

Thanks for the explanation!

Wow, what a coincidence? I tried MDMA on the black ZTE MF668 fro, CellC and could not get it to detect it. I am running Win7. Stopped the dashboard via Task Manager the lot but no success. Even went to the developer site http://www.nerve.org.za/mdma/ and downloaded the current version mdma10030c from there, yet no go.

I will try this beta as soon as the stick return during this week :).

Thanks! Hope it will work OK.
