I have the MDT-DVR369HPLS Multimedia Player and it's working perfect as opposed to many threads I have read elsewhere on the net. I tested almost all capabilities on the player, including LAN, timer recording, timeshift (pause and rewind live tv), pretty cool.

My only difficulty with the player is that I would like to connect it wirelessly to my pc and router network. I have purchased 150N Wireless LAN USB adapter and the indicator light don't even show when I had plugged it in the player.

Any advice will be highly welcome.

I managed to setup a wireless connection between my router and PC, but a wire (ethernet) between the router and the player.

I found out that I can only transfer files from my PC to the FAT32 partition and not the NTFS partition. Can I make my player to be accessible on my PC?

I am able to ping the IP address of the device but I can't access it on the network. Can I access the folders on this device?

Something tells me very few people have that model :/

Sorry

Dolby, no wonder because this device is a crap. Most of my videos play with sound and videos not in synchronisation, the sound trails back with about 30 seconds or so behind the video! Anyone with help about available firmware updates or something for this device?

Dolby and everyone, MDT-DVR369HPLS is the best multimedia player that I know of! I managed to solve the problem of sound and video synchronisation by using the software named AVI-Mux_GUI-1.17.7, that I downloaded on the web. I used this software to mux video and sound on those particular videos which had problems with synchronisation. Anyone can then go ahead and buy the device because it's ability to timed record, rewind and pause live TV. I can't believe that I am still paying R60 more to Multichoice just to do exactly what my MDT-DVR369HPLS can do for free and more, like converting my recorded videos to dvix or avi on my PC and store them for life.

Maybe this will help somebody sometimes. My MDT player has just stopped working. It appears to bootup fine when connected to TV but then does not display any menu anymore. It only displays Video1 on the TV screen after what appears to be a successful boot. I can still access the device on my PC through the USB cable so it can't be the problem of the harddrive. The problem started after I had a usual connection to my PC and loaded some videos.

no offense dude but this thing sounds like total a piece of poo

:p

Ok, Sometimes yes. But most of the time it is a great device to own. You don't usually get a PVR device that also enable you to store your recordings for life. By the way I found out that they may have been some kind of changes I made on the hard drive while uploading my videos because when I had disconnected the harddrive, the machine works perfectly as expected without the harddrive, the menu comes up and all. After I had reconnected the harddrive, the device notified me that I had installed a new harddrive and asked me to format it, which I didn't do for obvious reasons (all my stuff is in there). Any ideas people, except throwing it away. LOL.
