I'm always sceptical about these cellular providers, but being on prepaid, and with their new special, I decided to give these guys a try. Here's my feedback below.

I decided to order the free R50 package of me&you mobile from their website on Monday the 21st Sep, around 5pm... paid with my card and all was well. Seamless process and quite a well built site.
Later that afternoon, on my profile on their website, I had my phone number as well as SIM cards assigned. Quite cool...

Tuesday, around 1:45PM the courier drops by the office with the SIM cards. Awesome!
Upload the docs for RICA quite quickly, and activate. Pop the sim in my phone, and it works almost immediately.

Make a call to the SO to test the quality, and its pretty impressive. I was last on Cell C about 18 months ago and the quality in CPT then was horrendous.

So I keep the SIM in and make a few calls over bluetooth on the trip home to test the quality along the way, and it stays consistent all the way. Pretty impressive.

I tested the mobile data on Wednesday morning, and 3G stayed connected and worked perfectly. (Data is less of a concern for me).

The intention of me getting the free package was to port away from Vodacom and quit paying high prices for calls. With these guys, I was pretty impressed.

I had endless issues with Vodacom, CellC and Telkom Mobile in the past and porting, so I was reluctant to do so, but being a long weekend, I thought I take the plunge. Moving between networks broke my call routing, and I had to request multiple times for the networks to update it. Moving to VC in April was an utter ball ache and took about a week to get done. Eventually a myBB legend helped out and managed to get it right.

Filled out the port request online and it had to have been the most seamless port I've done ever. Port went through that evening, and routing from the other networks was automatically updated and worked.

I must say, so far I'm very impressed with them, their quality and support. They are very user centric which is lacking in the other providers. The CC guys also know what they are talking about and offer solutions rather than babble.

Moving on to their unlimited talk package on 1 October and will see how that works out!

Hope this helps some of you!

I've been on their unlimited package since they launched. Think its time to complete the port from VC.

I actually did it on Wednesday and it's been working damn well since!

Port request submitted.

Now to use up 1.7gigs of prepaid data I bought last week.

Using Me&You is okay. You can do it all via the website which is really nice. If you want to move away from Me&You it is also very easy. They will simply migrate you to a Cellc prepaid package and you need to do a sim swap and then you can port out or stay on Cellc prepaid.

Me&You being MVO of Cellc you will also benefit from Vodacom 3G roaming. So basically you get access to 2 networks but pay a very low price or pay nothing at all with their R50 free package....

You probably need to burn through it in a few hours...

My port went through between 8 and midnight...

A bit disappointed with Vodacom in how they managed the port from a security point.

I received an SMS from VC indicating that a port request was received and if it's not from me I should call the number in the SMS. Since I still had a gig of data left, I decided to call to cancel the port for now. Call centre agent said I should call cell c as they can't cancel a request from their side.

I decided to leave it expecting VC to verify the port through an SMS or phone call. Nothing. 30 minutes later the number was ported and active on the me & you sim.

The process I followed was to request a port on the me& you website. Entered my wife's ID number as the top-up contract was in her name for 8 years before moving over to prepaid. The me& you account is in my name and ID. Received an SMS about the request and port this evening and port completed 30 minutes later. No verification from VC required to confirm the port.

Anyone could have requested the port of my primary number that I use for banking without any verification by VC. I hope me& you don't treat ports to other networks the same.

Came in 11am yesterday. Quality OK in 3g . ended up using it as sim two as sim one is my main wcdma voda. Currently roaming on Voda 2g. Besides the 30 min cutoff . I would say I'm Happy. I'm gonna need to develop an android app to remind me after 27 mins to cut of the call. Go for it.

haha, you MUST use 300 MB data pm thats R375 for you. after 150 unique numbers, your are billed as prepaid
