Mead, Where do i find it?

yup. when you buy homemade gingerbeer from the tannie at the tuisnywerheid with the formerly wrinkled now gross and bloated raisins in it - is it slightly fizzy or boozy?
I don't buy homemade gingerbeer, but I do sometimes drink kombucha. Which is fizzy as hell.

Paid R80 a bottle (750ml) and it was quite enjoyable. Nice and sweet and packs a punch
I'll have to go make a stop there. R80 a bottle seems a bit on the cheap side, considering what's going in there. Would love to give it a shot!

Interestingly, those ginger beers can contain up to 3% alcohol by volume. I've read reports on people who's tested these "home recipes" and most are over 1% ABV. Plenty kicked in around 2%, and it's given to kids to enjoy by the litre... :P

bread also has alcohol in it.

If you leave it long enough the sugars can convert to alcohol but then you get not-sweet, not-fizzy, horrible drink that tastes like vrot juice. Drink it fast. Then you have fizz without the bzzz.

Oh, correct, but you don't drink bread in liters at a time :P

I would love to give a recipe a try and gauge just how much alcohol really is in there. I have all the stuff that'll make it super easy to calculate it pretty accurately :D

Pants on fire!
