Hi Guys,

Looking for some ideas for a weekly meal prep? What do you do? Trying to keep a balanced diet but slightly higher in protein for muscle gain.

What recipes are nice for chicken breasts?

I braai extra protein on Sunday then stick in containers, take out the night before and add veg, I eat it cold at work the next day.

I'd advise you to vary your meat intake.

First, chicken has relatively little in the way of other nutrients. Beef, for example, has a lot of zinc. Zinc is needed for testosterone production, so if you are trying to gain muscle, you need to make sure you have enough zinc.

Pork is decently high in B vitamins I believe. Fish has got high levels of omega 3. Eggs have a decent fatty acid profile, as well as choline.

What I do is braai every night. I buy a mixed batch of meat to braai, including steak, chicken wings, lamb chops, pork chops etc. Then I light a braai every night and cook a decent selection of meat. Not only does it taste great, but it is healthy too.

Also, the reason I eat chicken wings is because they are high in connective tissue - collagen. It is a good idea to up your collagen if you are eating a high protein diet.

Marinate chicken breast on the weekend, and chuck that into the airfryer on the weekdays. Healthy and clean protein.

I tend to do mince + 1 egg 2 days a week, good protein count and dead easy/fast to make and easy to clean if you have a lekker big non-stick pan.

Chicken breasts:
Coat with a little bit of oil, salt (or your rub of choice) and stick it in the air fryer.

Or dip in a mixture of your favourite sauce, some oil, some soy sauce, and stick it in the air fryer.
