Mecer Inverter Settings

This doesn't sound right at all, a 5kWh battery is supposed to cruise through that. Maybe your battery is not getting charged properly? Set Program 26 to 55.5V as your battery indicates, up the current to 60A, and disable power saving mode in prrogram 4.

The only thing I can think is that because he has it set as SBU the battery is never getting full and slowly went flat over time and cant catch up from just solar but I don't have a manual here to see what his grid charge value is.

I am also thinking that it could be beneficial to raise program 13 to a full charge voltage so that the system doesn't go back to using the battery before its fully charged. Maybe set it to 54V.

Maybe @Grandad give us some information on what you want to do with your system?

Do you want mostly loadshedding protection with some solar benefit during sunny days?

Or do you want to cycle your battery as best possible to save eskom usage and possibly run out of battery during night time loadshedding?

for full information, what is the solar configuration, i.e how many panels of what type/size and what configuration?

Many Many thanks for your help I really appreciate it, as far as I know it has always been like that but I only picked up the problem when we started to have load shedding from 10pm to 12-30am. I have now changed No12 to 51v, No13 to 55v, No16 to CUT and No26 to 55.8v and by 09-30 this morning the battery was fully charged. I have taken a meter reading so I`ll check at amount of Utillity I have used at the same time tomorrow and let you know if its better or worse. Thanks again for your input.
