Mecer Inverter

The Mecer one that the initial post posted.

SOL-I-BB-M1 - having the following specs: Mecer 1kW 12V pure sinewave Inverter
Not sure if this one has the fan issue of not turning on sometimes so just monitor the behaviour and see it is the same as with the LA, and if it is different then add an additional 12V pc fan.

I accidentally unplug the fan - i cant find where to plug the fan on the chip... >.<

The battery inside was the 12V Sealed Gel Battery.

Hi @wingnut771 , kindly see attached - i am not sure if it is the pin next to the white one. i accidentally pull it out while take the whole case out to remove the battery

It should be a white plastic connector with the same shape as the connector on the fan wire, maybe on the other board that the fan is blowing onto? I would be hesitant to run it with no fan at all though.

I can't see anywhere either where it plugs in, maybe someone with the same unit can advise?

The board in the background looks like it's similar to the SOL-I-BB-M1L. If so the connector is right in the corner.

Hi all, I'm also looking to replace the battery in my unit, is it just a matter of unscrewing handles, then the cover and then unscrew and remove the "silver plate" containing inverter then I'll be able to access the battery? The new battery arrived yesterday just not sure how to get it in and if its safe to do the above mentioned. Thanks in advance.

Hi

I struggle at the beginning, I unscrew the whole unit… turn the whole machine upside down just try to get the battery out.

So in the end,

1 technically just unscrew the “silver holder plate”;

2 wear a glove for preventing your hand get cut;

3 put in a silver flat stick at the bottom of the battery; just to try lift the battery for you to drag it out; (it really heavy)

4 unscrew the negative, then the positive.

5 then put new one in, then let the machine recharge fully before use.

Hey! Thanks a Mill. I followed your guidance and its all sorted and working. Good as new again.

Hi. What name brand type lithium battery did you get that fits perfectly in your inverter.

You can also get the dimensions for the battery you want to buy and compare with what you have, they are usually available on the data sheets provided.

Hi
I have just installed a Lihtium battery to the Mecer sol i bb m1.
The unit will now not power up even when the power supply is connected.
Does that mean the battery is under charged or is there something else I am misiing?
GeeWiz 12100L 1.2kWh 12V 100Ah Lithium Ion LiFePO4 5000 Cycle Battery (FIRST LIFE CELLS) - 3 Year Unlimited Cycles Warranty - 5000 Cycles

Check if there is voltage from the battery with a multimeter. Maybe the BMS has shut down or something and needs a jump start.

Nice thing is that it has a port for an extra battery, you can Jumpstart it there with another 12V battery if it it 12V or 24V otherwise, I suspect the battery has fallen into a deep sleep.

I was getting 13v from the new battery before installation.
I will add the old battery to the external ports and see if that works. It was still working before I changed batteries.

Thank you

Make sure the unit is off, as in off on the button and powered off the wall before adding the battery.

What battery brand are you using?
