Who here remembers the Mech Warrior PC games?

I was a total nut about Mech Warrior, Battle Mechs etc.

My favourite Mech was the Timber Wolf.

Anyone got any information regarding new games ? or stuff related to it.

I remember Microprose sold the license or something...

Nope, the guy who bought the franchise ended up dying, his immediate family could not be reached in order to negotiate a re-purchase. Hence no more Mechwarrior.

Funny how I was thinking the same thing 5 minutes ago and here I spot a thread about mechwarrior :/ brings back some memories :)

I was also thinking about the good old days in my Apache Longbow helicopter shooting the shyte out of things and low level flying etc... Wonder what happened to that idea as well. Not a lot of demand for attack heli flight sims anymore?

I loved Mechwarrior, especially Mercenaries and I've got every Mechwarrior for the PC.

Former FASA developer licenses properties back from Microsoft
Crimson Skies, Mech Assault, Shadowrun among properties

Former FASA Studios developer Jordan Weisman has licensed the rights to his creations from Microsoft and plans to develop the properties.

FASA Studios was responsible for the Xbox titles Mech Assault and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge as well as Shadowrun for the Xbox 360/Windows Vista. As previously reported, FASA Studios closed its doors in September.

Jordan Weisman, who has established a new studio known as Smith & Tinker, recently announced on the company's web site that it had licensed the rights for "MechWarrior, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies and the other properties of the FASA catalog."

While the company has not yet announced specific plans for each property, it noted that its "goal is to surprise and delight old fans, while welcoming new fans to these fantastic worlds."

Their site is here...
