mechanical keyboard

Well i bought the cm rapid black cherry, small keyboard no number pad with cherry black keys.

Tonight i will see if i wasted my money.

Postman i wasn't looking for information i was looking for someone to say yes i have this and that and it is way better than standard keys. I have googled and googled.

I bought the black cherry keys as i read they are best for gaming, then again opinion differs vastly so i will just have to see for myself tonight. Small keyboard without a number pad. Awesome actually, i never used the number pad apart from my windows login :D.

That's exactly what the other threads are for, hence my suggestion.

To buy Black because opinions say it's best for gaming may be good and well but it all comes down to the individual. The logic is that the linear way in which the key works (Black and Red) is better for double tapping than one that provides a bump (Brown) or bump & click (Blue) at actuation point (half way, 2mm).

I bought CM Storm QF Black initially and then got a Blue as well to test the difference. Sold the Black. If you find the Black is too hard to press then you need Blue or upgrade to the Quickfire Pro/Trigger and get Brown switches (same feeling as Blue without the clicky noise).

I wonder if the black cherry switches lend itself to finger fatigue with heavy typing.

I got the Corsair K90 (Cherry MX Red) and it is fantastic, but incredibly expensive too.

The main reason I bought it was, because it allow me to press multiple keys (NKRO) and my Logitech wireless keyboard didn't always accurately register the key presses, which is very important in fast-paced games like Quake3 Pro-Mode.

For typing I'd actually prefer a laptop keyboard like the one that I have with my Dell Inspiron 9400. The cheap laptops have horrible keyboards.
The feeling of typing fast on a mechanical keyboard is just awesome!!! Klak klak klak klak klak :D

I'm not sure if we should recommend mechanical keyboards with MX Cherry Blue for someone who is working in an open plan office, because they make one heck of a noise ;)
