Which of these would you guys choose if you had a choice of the 2 brands?

Wanted a mede8er but they were out of my budget so got a PlayOnHD (Essential) when they were on special at Esquire. Very happy with it.
If price wasn't an issue I would have probably got a mede8er based on the good reviews.

Format the HDD inside the unit (if you want internal HDD).

Make sure you upgrade to the latest firmware (4.x?).

Get uncapped ADSL...

I doubt that's the 500 model they sell at Esquire. More likely that's the 200 which doesn't take an internal HDD if I'm not mistaken. No way IC would charge almost half what the mede8tor website is selling it for.

It could be the 300 model which I've got it's quite nice actually, the interface is no where near the 500 one but it's still functional.

Best HDD is the Samsung F4 2TB

I have the WD Green 2TB in mine. No Issues.

As stated before ... format the drive inside the Mede8er. If you don't a lot of the features will not work properly.
