Media Player recommendations

Hi all

I need to buy a new media player for my house. At the very minimum (but very much most importantly) it needs to be able to play media off a flash drive. I don't care if it can connect to the internet or wifi or whatever or stream or whatever. It has to be able to play media off an external source like a flash player.

Right now I have a Western Digital, which is great, and a Baobab, which is horrible. I was at Computer Mania over the weekend and they had an OLink MediaMate Plus, but after googling the heck out of it, it basically looks like a carbon copy of the Baobab, so I am not really wanting to go for it.

What are my other options? Please, I need some help, especially if I'm going to try and purchase it online. I can't be spending a load of money and not get what I need.

Can vouch for the Mi Box S and Shield - got both, and they're both excellent!

Install Plex Server on your computer then use whichever box you get to stream your media over your home network, then you don't have to schlep a hard drive all over the place
