Hi,

I am looking for a new Android media device that will at least have some long term upgrade options.

I have a Minix at the moment on the 1 TV and need another device for the other. Are there better options out there? At least device that can upgrade to the next version of Android Jizz pop whatever it might be.

Mainly used for Kodi and LAN streaming.

The same. Gen 2 (2016) comes now with Alexa remote, but voice search can be done only in main browser, not a side-loaded Kodi. You really need air mouse with full keyboard. Very good up to full HD, but as new formats are becoming popular lack of support for HEVC 10 bit and VP9 will show up soon, especially when pirating. So if you are looking to buy it now, a new full Fire TV ($70) is a better option, or wait for 3rd gen stick that should be available during a month ot two.
