Hi,

I am looking for the best media streamer type device that will work nicely with XBMC. I currently have a Roku 3 which works PERFECTLY for all my media streaming services (Netflix and Hulu ect) and also Plex which has all my local storage.

I have just setup XBMC for the sole purpose of using it with Futubox which is working perfectly except for the navigation part - I am currently using a wireless keyboard and the HTPC is connected directly to my TV via HDMI cable which is fine for now, but I would ideally love to have the same setup I do with my Roku 3.

Does anyone know what is the best media player which is able to connect with XBMC (Roku 3 can't) so I can control Futubox? I already have a Remote which can control the PC but don't want the PC connected directly to the TV (hope I am making sense).

I won't be gettng rid of the Roku(it is the best device I have ever used), it will be a secondary device purely for watching Futubox streams.

Sorry for the long blabber :D Just want to make it clear what I need.

Are you looking for an android based machine? Take a look at one of the G-Box machines like the Slav or the Ouya. The Chinese Rockchip based machines such as the MK808ii, Minix Neo G5 etc. do not have support for graphics hardware acceleration but there may be a satisfactory workaround by using one of the bundled media player software solutions. The Intel NUC is probably the most suitable though.

Thanks for the links. I am looking to spend the least amount of money as possible. As mentioned, I already have a Roku 3 which I will still use 99% of the time. I am looking for a cheap way to get XBMC on my TV without my Micro Server being directly connected to my TV just for the sole purpose of using Futubox and a good way to control it.

I am currently using the XBMC remote app for iPhone and it is honestly amazing.

If I can't find a cheap solution then might have to make another plan and maybe leave the Server connected directly to my TV (that is last resort). Was also thinking of getting a Pi but how would XBMC and Futubox run on that, especially with the live feeds ect?

If you want cheap then those android sticks are probably your best option ~$40 including shipping. I think the MK808ii is considered to be one of the better ones currently but just do some research online. There are may different models (UG802 etc.) with the same processor but some apparently work a lot better than others (no bluetooth, bluetooth, good WiFi range etc.). Look on www.dx.com, www.aliexpress.com, www.geekbuying.com etc. for the best prices.

Hi sorry for being a bit off the topic but I need to know what speed adsl do you use with your Roku as I would like to purchase one and currently have a 2mbps line will that be enough?
